I love how you phrased this advice. I keep flashing back to last summer when I was negotiating with myself what kind of employee I wanted to be at my job. I was so burned out I couldn't see a new direction, so I just figured out how to keep treading water. It really is up to the organization to take the initiative and show there are options and aspects of return-to-the-office that are negotiable. It's too big a leap for employees to do this, which is also why quitting seems easier.
