I think it’s perfectly natural to have a preference for what you’re attracted to. I think it’s one part human chemistry, one part history. In real life, people are attracted to all kinds of different things. I like short guys, for example. But on TV and in media, we’re constantly fed the same look of what’s considered attractive. Seeing someone against the typically body type on a dating show is exhilarating. Especially when the show claims to be about celebrating inner beauty and removing physical appearance from the love equation. Physical appearance is important, but so is representation. And love is not just for the tall, thin and athletic.
