I think you just nailed the true benefit of a full month off. It takes time to unpack work stress. When I took a stress leave a few years ago, my therapist explained it takes a week to distance yourself from the day-to-day concerns (unanswered emails, missed meetings etc) then another week to fully unwind. Even if you take an average two-week vacation, you're jumping back into the daily grind the second you start to feel relaxed. Four weeks gives you time to get to a relaxed state, then two weeks to truly be in that state. Anytime I've taken an extensive break from work, I come back a whole new person with fresh ideas, perspectives and priorities. It's something I want to put in place now that I'm an entrepreneur and can make my own schedule.
