I was just talking about this the other day with someone at the dog park. She works as a law clerk and said her firm isn't putting any pressure on anyone to return to the office. Instead, they're combining three floors into one and setting up shared desk spaces. So obviously the firm is saving on real estate. Then she said the company saved more than a million dollars on PAPER! Not just printing out documents (the legal profession isn't totally paperless) but the biggest paper savings has been on Post-It notes. I for one welcome this change and look forward to looking back on this time the way we do phone technology (remember answering machines?)
