I'm always suspicious of studies citing "hallway meetings". The only time I've been stopped by a colleague in the hallway was to hear them complain or vent about an issue they couldn't bring up in an open office environment. I actually had way more productive conversations in my regular one-on-one phone calls with my team where we had a loose agenda and a set time to cover what we needed to cover - a habit I needed to form while working from home.
