Such a great question! At my last job we did this 'meeting audit' a few months before the pandemic. Turns out, most meetings we held were beneficial to enough people to justify keeping them around. But in checking in with staff on this issue we also got some insight into how we could streamline these meetings and came up with some 'rules'.
I think with wfh and hybrid work becoming more permanent, this is a great step for organizations to take. Not just 'do we need this meeting' but 'does this meeting need to be on video?' And if it does, how can we make it more effective and streamlined.
