Well said! For my entire 30s my mother would pull the "I just want you to be happy" line. Finally one day I asked "What makes you think I'm unhappy?" She finally admitted that because marriage and kids made her so happy, she wanted the same for me. I told her she needed to expand her definition and see the things in my life that make me happy. Finally we see eye to eye.
